Full Time

Summary

Nexus Pharmaceuticals is hiring at various position levels to work in the new aseptic manufacturing facility located in Pleasant Prairie, WI. The Packaging Operator will be responsible for taking the finished product of a manufacturing process and ensuring that it is packaged in line with company and industry standards, making it ready for sale or distribution per approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP).

Responsibilities:

  • Package products in various configurations, moving product on and off the assembly line
  • Must be able to follow detailed processing instructions (i.e., batch records) as well as clearly and accurately documenting all necessary batch documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all levels within the organization
  • Perform and document quality checks on product including calculations and measuring weight and volume
  • Document work accurately and timely
  • Load and unload vials from turntables from pallets
  • Calculate percent defective and reconciles components on batch record
  • Comply with current and applicable Safety (EHS), cGMPs, SOPs, regulations, guidelines, and policies
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Stack product on pallets and move pallets to staging locations/warehouse
  • Serialize product by saleable unit and apply labeling
  • Monitor, implement, and maintain a safe work environment and maintain/wear proper safety equipment/apparel (PPE)
  • Package product filled in glass vials and bags into trays/shippers
  • Set-up, adjust, and operate equipment such as labeling machines, vision systems (cameras), etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assist with visual inspection activities as needed
  • Position may require employees to work in a 24/7 rotational schedule. This schedule will include holidays, and weekends; over-time may be required. Work closely with shift team to achieve goals in a 24/7 cGMP Production Environment
  • Maintain attention to detail and quality and a high level of integrity and confidentiality, while completing multiple or repetitive tasks and meeting timelines and deadlines
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and comply with technical and written documents (SOPs)
  • Recognize and report deviations or potential issues immediately to the management team
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships cross functionally including production, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, engineering, validation, and maintenance
  • Demonstrate proficiency as outlined in training requirements for the assigned areas of responsibilities
Requirements:

Desired Characteristics:

  • Basic math skills to perform required calculations (multiplication/division)
  • Ability to visual detect defective vials
  • Good written and oral communication skills

Education or experience:

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Previous pharmaceutical inspection experience preferred

Travel Requirements:

  • 0-5% travel required for this role

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. several times per shift
  • Must be able to use pallet jacks to pull/push pallets of product
  • Must be able to focus on details for periods of time (i.e., labeling, packaging, warehousing)
  • Must be able to sit stoop, stand, and climb to perform repetitive work.
  • Must have good manual dexterity or hand-eye coordination and be able to perform potentially complicated actions quickly and correctly
