Description

Packaging Team Member is responsible for the efficient operation of various cheese packaging. Including cutting, accurately filling and securing products to ship to customers. This position must interact well with all other departments. Additionally, this position must interact well with all other departments and be willing to learn and assist in other areas as needed. This position must practice safety in all aspects of the job.

Hours 7am - 3pm Mon-Fri Overtime as needed; occasionally Saturdays

80 Hours PTO accrual within 1st year!

Duties And Responsibilities

• All other duties as assigned.
• Accurately cut bulk blocks of cheese up to 50lbs.
• Accurately package 7.5 oz - 50 lb cuts into proper boxes.
• Understand sanitation operations of the Packaging Department.
• Maintain open communications with all departments.
• Follow all current company policies and procedures.
• Properly record Production and Quality data.
• Understand and know the set up and cleanup operation of the packaging line.
• Assure proper labeling per order as set by the supervisor.
• Maintain line speed as per supervisor’s instructions.
• Maintain a sanitary workspace according to the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Inspect weight and seal retail packages of cheese.

Requirements Required

• Ability to read and follow directions.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependability and punctuality a must.
• Eagerness to learn and work in the dairy food industry.
• Computer knowledge preferred but will train..

Physical Demands

• Pass a drug & alcohol screen as well as a general background check.
• Stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repetitively.

Work Environment: Food plant environment. Must adhere to all food and plant safety policies and regulations. Work with chemicals for cleaning purposes.
