An exciting opportunity exists for a Overhead Crane Operator to join our Atchison Team. The Overhead Crane Operator role reports to the Before Cast Manager and is responsible for the safe operation of the crane.

SHIFT: 1st
PAY: $22.27 - $25.48

Purpose Statement:
The Overhead Crane Operator reports to the Before Cast Manager and is responsible for the safe operation of the crane. This includes Setting Flasks/Patterns, pouring, shaking out and filling mobile mixers; as well as doing other production work within the foundry which includes but is not limited to Typical foundry production work and pouring castings.

Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Setting up patterns and flasks, maintaining sand levels in mixers, shaking out flasks/castings and loading/unloading transfer cars and trucks.
  • Operate the overhead crane from the cab
  • Assisting with all aspects of transferring and pouring liquid metal

Key Selection Criteria
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate equipment
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction
  • (Preferred) Minimum 2 years as crane or heavy equipment operator or similar experience
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to work with others
  • Qualifications:
    • Excellent hand eye coordination

    Experience:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • (Preferred) Minimum 2 years as crane or heavy equipment operator or similar experience
    • (Preferred) foundry or manufacturing experience
    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Ability to safely and efficiently operate equipment
