SIGN-ON BONUS : Up to $6000 for licensed professionals and up to $2500 for non-licensed professionals (terms and conditions apply)

ABOUT THE ROLE The Outpatient Mental Health Therapist will provide a full range of direct and indirect services to children and their families presenting with a wide variety of emotional and behavioral disorders. Services include: Child Parent Psychotherapy, family therapy, individual child therapy, ongoing case management, assessment, treatment and discharge planning and advocacy. Delivery of therapeutic services in the office, in foster or birth homes as well as in a community setting.


Based in our Renton location, this position reports to the Clinical Director.


TYPICAL DUTIES The Outpatient Mental Health Therapist completes initial intake as well as a comprehensive assessment and determines DC-05/DSM V diagnosis on an ongoing basis that places clients in the most appropriate treatment course in the timeliest manner.
  • Maintain productivity standards of direct service as established for the position.
  • Remains current with professional development requirements through seminars, etc.
  • Assists in developing strength-based, goal-oriented treatment plans which address the specific needs of the family and specific anticipated clinical outcomes.
  • Participates in scheduled supervision, biweekly clinical team meetings, quarterly psychiatric consult meetings and other staff and administrative team meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assists with supervising and recruiting mental health interns, if applicable.
  • Ensures timely collection of statistical information for external funding sources and program evaluations.
  • Ensures compliant with applicable agency contracts and adheres to all Federal, State, and Local confidentiality requirements and guidelines. Performs periodic reviews of documentation on regular basis when required by Clinical Supervisor or when need arises (self-audit).
  • Maintains complete documentation of the child’s case records in the designated EHR, including assessments, progress notes, individual treatment plan, other internal paperwork as needed and discharge summaries. Maintains consumer records in keeping with Agency, County and State guidelines.
  • Maintain ethical, competent and health client relationships, communication skills, and boundaries.
  • Provides therapy in clients’ homes, at schools, in the community and/or Childhaven therapeutic centers.
  • Complies with the agency’s policy and procedure regarding the identification and reporting of child abuse.
  • Provides direct treatment services, group therapy, and group facilitation to assigned cases, including case management, parental skills training (PPP, Incredible Years, PFR, PCIT or TF-CBT), crisis intervention, home visits, referral and advocacy, and therapy in a culturally sensitive and family focused, strength-based manner. Provides discharge planning as well.
  • Complies with all Childhaven policies and procedures.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Childhaven background check and drug screen requirement.
  • Valid Mental Health Counselor; Independent Clinical Social Worker; or Marriage & Family Therapist Certification/License AND/OR Associate status.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, have a state required minimum automobile insurance, and be able to use own vehicle for the job.
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or closely related field. Preference will be given to individuals experienced with case work with disadvantaged or dysfunctional families from a variety of cultural backgrounds and those with experience in working with preschool children.
  • Maintain current certifications including Child/Infant CPR, first aid and AED, HIV and bloodborne pathogens.
  • A clear portable background check through Washington Department of Early Learning.
  • Verifiable safe driving record.
