Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. Shriners Children’s Spokane is seeking a full-time Donor Development Officer I to join our team! We are presently recruiting for an experienced fundraising professional who can secure donations from our loyal supporters. This is a dynamic and meaningful position for a development professional interested in purposeful fundraising.


This Part-Time Outcomes Coordinator position works to collect and track clinically important patient outcome indicators and assists with translating results into clinical care of the patient and their families. This person is responsible for working with all clinical departments to capture data that improves clinical care, entering clinical data into a database, tracking patient visits, auditing the data for completeness and accuracy, and assisting with streamlining clinical processes related to Outcomes data collection.


Outcomes


  • Reviews and develops a familiarity with the protocol, e.g., study proceedings and timelines, inclusion and exclusion criteria, confidentiality, privacy protections.
  • Develops study timelines and implementation.
  • Notifies appropriate institutional officials of external audits by FDA and sponsors.
  • Reviews and comprehends study protocols, Award Acceptance (contract Terms & Conditions).


PI


  • Collaborates with PI and institution to respond to any audit findings and implement approved recommendations.
  • Works with the site PIs, departments, sponsors, and institutions to support and provide guidance on the administration of the compliance, financial, personnel and other related aspects of the clinical study.
  • Assist multisite PIs with project reporting and closeout.
  • Attends investigator meetings/webinars as required or requested by the PIs, sponsors, etc..


Support & Facilitate


  • Master's in Biology preferred
  • The multisite spine research specialist will support, facilitate and coordinate the day-to-day activities of multicenter clinical trial activities.
  • Assists in study feasibility assessments as requested.
  • Assist with budgets.
  • Protocol Preparation & Review.
  • Coordinates to help ensure that clinical research and related activities are performed in accordance with Federal regulations and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.
  • 1 year clinical reserach preferred
  • Bachelor in healthcare, biology or engineering preferred
  • Assist with IRB submission.


Clinical Knowledge The candidate should have some clinical understanding as well as access to a clinical mentor that can advise when clinical questions arise.


Computer Knowledge Computer experience required – familiarity and comfort with MS Office products is essential for success in this position (Word and Excel – required; PowerPoint & Access – preferred).


Hospital Systems Knowledge The ability to track down information through various sources such as medical records, surgery clinics, social security death index, direct patient contact, accounts payable, and legal counsel. The candidate should have some experience gather information in a complex hospital system environment.


Hospital Departmental Knowledge The candidate should have some experience sharing information across functions.


Ability to communicate and interact with all members of the surgical team, administrative staff, corporate leadership, and the patients/patient families in a professional and courteous manner


Technical Competencies


Computer And Internet Skills And Experience, Required


Familiarity with MS Office products (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, etc.), required


Database Entry And/or Management Experience, Preferred


Statistical knowledge, preferred


Some travel may be required.
