ROLE: As a member of the Order Entry / Engineering team in the Alliance Door Products Bothell Office, the Order Specialist will meet our customers' needs through accurate, detailed, and thorough Order Entry, scheduling awareness, code compliance, and growth in knowledge in commercial door requirements. As a part of the overall Sales team at Alliance Door Products, this role will help to build valuable and lasting relationships with our customers.


HOURS: Monday-Friday, Regular Day Hours (40 hours/week) In office at one of our Alliance Door Products US locations.


Responsibilities


  • Develop an understanding of hardware and door frame details.
  • Cooperatively interact with the Customer Service team to ensure the accuracy of the information and respond to their needs for serving customers, ensuring prompt responses internally and externally.
  • Develop mastery in our ERP and related systems for new order entry and changes to open orders.
  • Provide accurate, detailed & thorough order entry for our Commercial customers' Door and Hardware orders.
  • Develop an understanding of our warranty and how it applies to that specific door-opening application.
  • Cooperatively interact with Purchasing and Production departments to evaluate costs and procedures required to fulfill order requirements.
  • Engage with our customers to ensure accuracy and relevant information, positively addressing inquiries and concerns.
  • Develop a deep understanding of door construction requirements, knowledge of fire code, and how it applies to that specific door opening requirement.
  • Develop an understanding of pre-finish standards and requirements.
  • Identify conflicts and work with the customer to resolve them while upholding necessary requirements.


Core Skills & Qualifications


  • Ability to navigate and interpret blueprints and understand the commercial plan takeoff process.
  • Passion for driving change and delivering results through commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to detail and source complex special order products and services.
  • Must be highly organized, efficient, accurate, and detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
  • Familiarity with the millwork industry or the building industry is preferred.
  • Understanding of project specifications, fire listings, and industry code compliances with the ability to acquire and provide submittals as required.
  • Commitment to communicate and collaborate successfully with employees, customers, vendors, and others.
  • Willing to participate in continuing education, including involvement in various commercial door industry associations.
  • An advanced understanding of all aspects of the MO process.
