This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Senior Creative Photographer position for the Orange Media Network (OMN) at Oregon State University (OSU).
The Senior Creative Photographer works collaboratively, as part of the OMN Creative team, on photography projects, including but not limited to promotional photography, client shoots, motion graphics for tutorials and instructional photography. They are also responsible for creating/maintaining a photo archiving system for OMN mediums and client work.

The Senior Creative Photographer employment dates are as follows:
Onboarding: May 22 – 26, 2023
Full Start: Sept. 11, 2023 to May 31, 2024
Optional Summer Start: June 1 – August 31, 2023
Pay Rate:
Onboarding: 5 hours per week, $75.75 total during onboarding
Full Start: Average 10-15 hours per week at $15.90 per hour
Position DutiesSenior Creative Photographer Responsibilities
- Attend weekly cohort meetings and all trainings
- Meet all deadlines or is willing to proactively communicate with clients to reset expectations if meeting deadlines are at risk
- Other duties as assigned by the adviser
- Conduct shoots for promotional photography, public service announcements, behind-the-scenes for each medium, house advertisements, client projects and other special graphic and photo needs
- Hold and post 5 – 10 regular office hours each week for OMN, at least half of these hours should be during regular business hours (9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday). Hours may vary during different stages of the term
- Oversee creation and upkeep of photo archive system for clients and OMN
- Act in a professional manner at all times and create and maintain collegial working relationships with fellow student leaders, organization members, sources, stakeholders, partners, collaborators and the community
Communication
- Respond to emails, messages, team chats and phone calls the same day, professionally representing OMN
- Notify adviser immediately should any ethical, legal, personnel or controversial problems occur
Leadership
- Be an enthusiastic leader and representative of OMN
- Ensure designs and content are centered on equitable representation and inclusion, with attention to impact on historically underrepresented and marginalized communities and constituencies
- Follow all OMN policies and procedures
- Work to create an inclusive and welcoming culture of celebration and perseverance

- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
- High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
- High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
- International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

- Knowledgeable about shooting in different settings and editing photos
- Is able to communicate with others (e.g., clients, coworkers, partners) and is comfortable speaking in public
- Is organized and reliable
- Is comfortable giving and receiving feedback
- Has an eye for visual composition
- Is adaptable to a changing environment
- Demonstrable profieciency in Photoshop, Lightroom or other photo editing software
- Is knowledgeable of legal regulations and ethical principles guiding client photography
