Optician Jobs

As an Optician, customer/patient service is priority one! You’ll assist patients with selecting and ordering eyewear, adjustments, and fittings, and educating on proper eyewear and contact lens care under the supervision of an Optometrist. Your initiative and organizational skills will keep us running at top performance, while your enthusiasm and knowledge will provide an exceptional patient experience.

• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies
• Maintains frame board inventory
• Interprets prescription and helps patients choose appropriate eyewear, consulting with prescribing optometrists, as appropriate
• Adjusts eyewear to patient using appropriate tools and instruct on cleaning and handling
• Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) is a plus
• Submits insurance billing to appropriate insurance companies for materials
• Detailed oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
• Orders eyewear from laboratory based on prescription and patient preference
• Makes any necessary repairs using appropriate parts and tools
• Three (3) years of previous optical experience
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• ABO - NCLE certifications at time of hire or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel
• Performs quality inspection of lenses and frames
• Takes optical measurements necessary for eyewear preparation
