Overview: As an Optician, customer service is priority one! You’ll assist patients with selecting and ordering eyewear, adjustments and fittings, and educating on proper eyeglass and contact lens care. Your initiative and organizational skills will keep us running at top performance, while your enthusiasm and knowledge will provide an exceptional patient experience. Responsibilities:
  • Takes optical measurements necessary for eyewear preparation
  • Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies
  • Interprets prescription and helps patients choose appropriate eyewear, consulting with prescribing physicians as appropriate
  • Orders eyewear from laboratory based on prescription and patient preference
  • Makes any necessary repairs using appropriate parts and tools
  • Performs quality inspection of lenses and frames
  • Adjusts eyewear to patient using appropriate tools and instruct on cleaning and handling
Qualifications:
  • Detailed oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous optical experience preferred; willing to train if eager to learn
  • Flexible schedule working Monday through Friday
  • Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) is a plus
  • ABO and NCLE is a plus, will be required within 6 months of hire
