Job Description

We are looking for our an Ophthalmic Assistant who is not only technically skilled, but warm and compassionate- like our practice! If you have a passion for this work in Eye Care – we want to hear from you!



The Work:


Interviews patient to obtain patient history. Provides patient instruction regarding testing procedures.


Performs basic and routine vision screening examinations, administers eye medications, and assists with minor office procedures.


Documents care given, testing results, and patient's responses.


Cleans and maintains exam rooms and ophthalmic instruments. Maintains and stocks supplies as needed. May assist with clerical duties including scheduling and patient registration.


You Have


Certified as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) and Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider preferred.


Clinical experience in health care


Previous experience as an ophthalmic or optometric technician


Certification is required within a year of hire


Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
