Job Description
Job Title: Operator
Location: Fort Benton, MT
Shift: This is a (2-2-3) 12- hour day shift schedule including Saturday and Sunday work as scheduled (typically every other weekend).
Pay: This is an hourly level position with a starting rate of $21.00 per hour
Position Description: The Operator position will report to the Plant and or Shift Supervisor and will perform duties in an industrial hemp processing facility. The Operator is responsible for setting up/starting up, operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, documenting, and reporting issues on plant equipment. The operator will also adjust equipment to ensure equipment is operating at maximum efficiency, keeping safety and product quality priority.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Cleaning facilities, equipment, and machinery.
  • Prioritize and maintain safe working practices and a safe working environment.
  • Assist in on-the-job training with laborer and technician level employees.
  • Package materials
  • Act as lead when needed.
  • Knowledge / understanding of electrical, confined space, and safety regulations.
  • Follow necessary GMP And SOP policies.
  • Conduct quality checks.
  • Maintain work areas, isles, and grounds in a clean and tidy manner.
  • Safely operate heavy / arial equipment such as: Forklift, Skid-steer, wheel Loader, grapple, telehandler, scissor lift.
  • Excellent knowledge / ability to operate all processing equipment and mobile within or outside of the facilities.
  • Collect product samples.
  • Troubleshooting and fixing machinery as needed.
  • Loading and unloading materials
  • Maintain and monitor equipment to ensure proper functionality and efficient operation.

Education And Experience
  • Must have the ability to climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel and stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, work with heights, dusty environment, and hot and cold temperatures.
  • 2+-years industry or equivalent training preferred
  • Prior manufacturing (grain or food processing) or agriculture experience a plus
  • Prior experience Operating heavy equipment and forklifts a plus
  • Ability to exhibit good work habits, including attendance and punctuality
  • High school diploma or equivalent, additional education or training a plus
  • Basic understanding of computers and math comprehension
