Job Description

Operations Manager

Full Time $17-18/hr.

Overview of General Responsibilities:

The Operations Manager is responsible for creating a clean, safe, and overall inviting environment for all our members and guest. This includes housekeeping, purchasing, organizing, stocking, and developing of the overall operation of the housekeeping team to a high standard of cleanliness, observing all guidelines regarding local standards while assuring the highest degree of member care is always maintained. Responsible for staffing, scheduling, training, and developing all staff.

Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Investigates, reports and records inappropriate behavior by staff, members, or suspicious persons
  • Create relationships with outside venders
  • Models and upholds 212’s member service standards of excellence
  • Processing laundry
  • Locker room care (i.e. cleaning toilets, showers)
  • Leads and mentors housekeeping staff daily to ensure cleanliness standards and operational efficiencies are met or exceeded
  • Report any maintenance issues with the Maintenance manager
  • Recruit, schedule and train all new operations staff members
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing and mopping floors
  • Ensures member requests of the Operations department are handled in a professional and timely manner
  • Communicates regularly with Operations staff, setting expectations and alignment to 212 values, and provides regular feedback through inspections
  • Continuously raises the bar for Operations expectations of excellence
  • Implements and manages inventory processes
  • Purchase, order and maintain operational supplies and inventory
  • Dusting
  • Leads and mentors’ direct staff and Operations employees, including:
  • Assists AGM in reviewing and action planning related to member comments, as well as follow up and resolution
  • Cleaning machines and equipment
  • Implements the GM’s financial strategy to manage budget and labor, operating expense forecasts
  • Drives, reviews, and ensures proper completion of the work order process
  • Window and mirror care
  • Ensures compliance and timely completion of the performance appraisal process; identifies key talent and plans for development
  • Trains new team members and ensures continued training and development of current staff
  • Communicates with Maintenance manager to ensure housekeeping areas meet fire chief and state fire inspector standards
  • All existing team members to ensure proper staffing/budgeting levels are maintained

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the Hospitality field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory position
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends

Skills Required

  • Ability to bend, stretch and twist
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Capable of tolerating exposure to cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
