Christ the King Corporate Work Study Overview

Christ the King Jesuit College Prep, through the Cristo Rey Network model, provides a college preparatory education to high school students from under resourced communities on Chicago’s West Side. At CTK, we prepare students to achieve their fullest potential through the integration of academics, work experience, extracurricular activities, and service. We are proud that, the 15 years CTK has been open, 100% of CTK graduates have been accepted to college.


Through the Corporate Work Study Program, all CTK students work 5 days per month at a leading Chicago area company. The wages students earn through their jobs fund a substantial portion of the cost of their education - making quality, college prep education possible for students who otherwise would not have access. The resulting work experience, career exploration, mentorship, and networking students gain is invaluable in positioning them to succeed in college and beyond.


Job Summary – Manager of CWSP Operations

CTK seeks a Manager of CWSP Operations to oversee CWSP operation which are essential to the student experience and to their success. Reporting to the VP for Corporate Work Study, the Manager of CWSP Operations (Manager) is responsible for management of the operational aspects of the CWSP program as well as CTK’s shuttle fleet. The Manager coordinates the details and logistics of CWSP transportation including vehicles, route creation, scheduling, buses, and driver supervision. The Manager is responsible for contract management and monthly billing for CWSP corporate partners. The Manager oversees the logistics of CWSP events. The Manager is responsible for additional aspects of CWSP operations as assigned (e.g., managing the I9s and work permits, coordinating partner onboarding requirements, administering surveys, tracking and analyzing data) and drives transportation routes as needed in a back-up capacity. The Manager also oversees CTK’s shuttle fleet.


Key Responsibilities


CWSP Transportation

  • Manage CWSP’s relationship with the bus transportation company, ensuring buses are scheduled daily, payments are made, the contract is followed.
  • Develop and manage transportation routes for students to and from work.
  • Manage the relationship between CTK and the Pace Not-for-Profit Shuttle Program and all requirements of the Pace program.
  • Coordinate CWSP mid-day student pick-ups.


Driver Supervision

  • Monitor staff hours, collect timecards, and submit payroll on time each pay period.
  • Serve as the direct supervisor for CTK staff whose primary responsibility is driving and CWSP bus chaperoning.
  • Schedule drivers for CTK morning transportation and staff for CWSP routes. Schedule substitute drivers as necessary. Drive routes when a scheduled driver or substitute driver is not available.
  • Ensure budget for driver pay is used efficiently. Track expenses to budget and provide a monthly report to the VP for Corporate Work Study.
  • Recruit, select, orient, train, and develop staff.
  • Monitor performance, coach, hold accountable, and appraise staff performance.


Contract Billing

  • Coordinate with the business office to track payments received.
  • Send bills to corporate partners on schedule each month.
  • Maintain accurate records of all corporate partner contracts, contact information, billing amounts, and billing schedules.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for the VP for Corporate Work Study and the business office.
  • Follow up on all late or missing payments.


Event Planning and Execution

  • Collaborate with the VP for Corporate Work Study, Director of Student and Partner Success, and Director of Corporate Partner Development to plan and execute CWSP events for students, parents, partners, and the school community.
  • Manage details of the events, including but not limited to space booking and setup, menu planning and food ordering, communication, RSVP tracking, day of logistics coordination, and assessment.


CTK Shuttle Management

  • Manage CTK’s fleet of shuttles, ensuring that all vehicles are maintained in safe operating and clean condition.
  • Coordinate shuttle use for all co-curricular sports and activities after school, on weekends, and during school breaks.
  • Coordinate CTK’s morning transportation routes to pick students up and bring them to CTK in the mornings.


Other CWSP Duties as Assigned

Coordinate additional CWSP operations processes and tasks as assigned, including, but not limited to:

  • Daily student attendance
  • Partner onboarding requirements
  • Data analysis and tracking
  • Department of Labor requirements – I9 forms and student work permits


Qualifications

A successful candidate will possess the following knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Ability to lift 25lbs.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, attention to detail, and administrative skills.
  • Flexibility to adjust hours to drive routes as needed and to meet deadlines and school needs.
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience with substantial experience managing and coordinating operations and supervising or leading staff.
  • A minimum of 3 years of safe driving experience and ability to be insured.
  • A valid driver’s license with no serious moving violations.
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Strong technology skills including proficiency with MS Office Suite (excel, word, ppt) and ability to learn Salesforce or other CRM.
  • Sensitivity to the ethnic, racial, and religious identities of the student body
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
