OUR CLIENT is a long-standing global manufacturer that is profitable and growing. Their customer base is very deep and they have amazing manufacturing facilities that supply the highest level of quality products. They offer complete design, engineering, and manufacturing operations at their facilities. WITH CURRENT AND EXPANDING new business our client is looking for their next Operations Manager to be part of this world-class manufacturing operation.
OVERVIEW
- The Plant Manager of this facility will provide overall operational leadership for all of the strategic operational and tactical aspects involved in achieving the company’s profit and growth objectives. This will include: establishing operational, engineering, tool, die, and reliability plans and processes, and providing leadership in the achievement of team goals.
- For decades, the organization has stamped highly reliable metal products to supply many automotive and non-automotive market segments.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
- Conduct Layered Process Audits (L.P.A).
- Develop key performance goals and manage the performance of staff.
- Develop and manage a budget.
- Work closely with other Executive Team members to grow, and attract, customers.
- Communicate production goals to management team on each shift in order to accomplish the production program, in time, quantity, and quality, based on the customer requirements.
- Maintain / improve the team’s continuous improvement vision.
- Deliver quality products to customers – on-time.
- Lead ~20 team member management / professional staff and ~250 hourly team members.
- Create / implement strategies for operational excellence and growth.
- Analyze production results for reduction in rates of SCRAP and RE-WORK through continuous improvement in production processes.
- Coordinate and communicate with support areas such as Logistics, Maintenance, Quality, Shipments, Receiving, etc., to organize support when needed in stamping process.
- Develop new solutions to meet customer needs.
BACKGROUND
- 10-years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience within a metal stamping plant – automotive preferred.
- Experience with transfer, tandem, and progressive processes.
- Black Belt or strong Lean skill-set - preferred.
- Culture focused, highly communicative at all levels, and optimistic personality.
