Your responsibilities

Summary of the Operations Manager role:

thyssenkrupp Aerospace, NA is searching for an Operations Manager to provide leadership and direction to insure the continual, efficient, and uniform operation of warehouses and plants which will meet or exceed customer expectations in a safe and orderly manner. Enforce existing or develop and implement new plans coordinated with branch and corporate management to increase the reliability and continually improve the quality and efficiency of the products and services provided by the business, while ensuring that policies, procedures, and standards are in conformance with company goals.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Execute and enforce plans and procedures to insure the safety of all employees and visitors at our facilities.
  • Assist with customer problems, including on site visits where necessary.
  • Responsible for direct and indirect management of leaders with upwards of 50-60 direct reports (Muti layered function)
  • Work with the branch manager or department leader to establish goals, assess competency and direct operational output.
  • Attend regional and corporate meetings when required.
  • Communicate and monitor progress towards company safety, returns and allowances, and on time shipment and 6S/Lean directives.
  • Manage maintenance of equipment to provide maximum availability and minimum down time.
  • Ensure that all functional areas of the company work within a culture of continual improvement in support of corporate 6S and Lean initiatives.
  • Perform employee reviews as required or requested.
  • Build, train and develop leadership team.
  • Visit to each site as required.
  • Meets TKMNA Employee Attributes/Competencies
  • Insure that preventive and corrective action methods are followed to eliminate or correct procedures and practices which do not meet customer requirements.
  • Correct/clarify incorrect operational procedures.
  • Evaluate and recommend new equipment purchases to enhance quality, capabilities and productivity.
  • Other operational duties as requested.
  • Ensure operations and equipment is in compliance to corporate guidelines and OSHA Standards.
  • Purchase or direct the purchase of necessary warehouse supplies to ensure the ability to comply with written work instructions and customer requirements.
  • Frequent communication with Branch Managers and/or site Operations Representatives.

Your profile

Qualifications:

To be considered for this Job, you MUST have:

  • Training in leadership skills, team building, motivation, strategic planning, finance and time management.
  • Completion/working towards 4-year degree (business or engineering discipline) or equivalent work/life experience.
  • Previous successful experience and/or training in employee relations, safety programs, ISO standards, Lean practices and sale functions.
  • PC literacy including competency with standard office automation and productivity software.
  • Communication and Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with all levels of our organization.
