Opportunity Summary

The O&M Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations and routine maintenance of the facility. The O&M Supervisor directs the implementation of the Operating Plan and identifies those areas which may need improvement or further development. The O&M Supervisor ensures that the plant operating conditions are always kept within optimum limits.

Primary Duties

Your scope of responsibility as O&M Supervisor includes the following primary functions:

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
  • Conduct periodic review of plant policies and procedures to ensure they reflect current plant goals and operating requirements.
  • Develop, track and manage the long-term Maintenance plans and utilize an organized method of planning day-to-day activities, including weekly and monthly plans.
  • Develop and maintain equipment history operating records including equipment operating hours, maintenance downtime, cost, availability, manpower utilization and report such information to the Plant Manager.
  • Participate in facility audits as requested by the company.
  • Protect the Owner’s investment in machinery, equipment, and facilities by oversight of the monitoring, inspection, maintenance and control of all production, auxiliary and facility equipment.
  • Coordinate contractor support required for equipment repair or maintenance including; work scope, negotiations, contract development, and implementation.
  • Motivate, direct and supervise personnel to accomplish their assigned duties effectively and efficiently through performance appraisals, rewards, discipline, and management skills.
  • Develop and support others in the preparation and presentation of required health, safety and environmental (HSE) training programs and maintain plant training records.
  • Assign the daily work; supervise and evaluate performance of assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ensure proper, efficient and safe operation of the facility equipment by establishing, implementing, and maintaining equipment operating procedures.
  • Support equipment operation through the implementation of preventive, predictive, scheduled and corrective maintenance planning and procedures.
  • Lead the planning of maintenance outages using effective time management principles. Provide the Plant Manager with information concerning the availability and reliability of facility equipment.
  • Drive HSE program compliance
  • Assist Plant Manager in development and monitoring of plant budget, operating plan, and development of technicians.

Working Relationships

The O&M Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and supervises subordinate operations and maintenance personnel.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required.

Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.

Compensation

The initial compensation will range from $105,000 - $135,000.

Job Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate who has extensive power plant technical and leadership experience with a work history that demonstrates a pattern of accomplishments and advancement. Gas turbine experience is highly desirable.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; secondary education preferred
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Solution-driven problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience of operations and/or maintenance teams
  • Must have a valid driver's license
