Oncology Nurse - Patient Navigator – Pharmaceutical
Phone Contact Center 9am-5pm M-F
Hybrid remote and in office East Hanover, NJ area
Telephonic Support
If you are ready for a change from bedside or office oncology nursing practice but still wish to make a difference in oncology patients’ lives, this is a Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm opportunity to positively impact cancer patients and their caregivers’ lives.
Working remotely from your home office two days a week, and in the contact center in East Hanover NJ three days per week, you will have telephonic interactions only with patients between the hours of 9am – 5pm local time. In this role, you will be supporting oncology patients via phone helping lead them through their treatment journey. The Oncology Patient Navigator will be the main point of contact telephonically for patients and their caregivers. You will be providing support including access information and offerings, disease state, motivational support with the ultimate goal of improving adherence and patient outcomes.

Required
  • Solution oriented problem solver
  • Minimum of 2+ years oncology and or hematology/oncology experience with direct patient interaction
  • Successfully work cross-functionally collaborating with a team of other oncology nurse patient navigators
  • 2+ years’ experience educating oncology patients
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Understanding of patient privacy laws including HIPPA and similar state laws
  • Active RN license
  • Knowledge of existing MS office software suite and the ability to manage new software platforms when necessary
  • 3+ years’ experience with complex specialty products as a nurse
  • Empathetic, motivated self-starter, with positive attitude
Preferred:
  • OCN
  • 8+ years oncology nursing experience
  • Case management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • ONS involvement
  • Basic understanding of specialty pharmacy workflows
  • Understanding of product and payer reimbursement processes (benefits investigation, prior authorizations, financial assistance, etc.)
