About This Opportunity:

Shaw Local Radio is searching for an experienced, engaging, relatable, community-focused Full-Time On-Air Talent to complement the music in the afternoon on our market-leading country station WALS 102. Our goal is to super-serve the community through locally focused, locally produced programs from our LaSalle/Peru, IL studios. We also desire “format flexibility” with your ability to fill in on our sister stations, Classic Hits 106, and Today’s Best Hits Q-Hits Music. Proficiency in utilizing Adobe Audition to conduct client recording sessions, produce creative commercials and on-air content is a must! We are actively involved in our communities, supporting local service organizations, providing local news, sports, and programming content. You will be expected to represent our stations professionally and enthusiastically at public appearances or station events. What the job requires of you: You will bring a motivated, positive, and passionate attitude for broadcasting. Being a people person, you’ll enjoy engaging with the audience, collaborating with our sales staff, and LOVE being the hero! Your genuine, relatable communication style is invaluable both on and off the air. The nature of this position requires exceptional organization, follow-through, and the ability to work with an exceptional team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
• Host daily on-air shows Monday – Friday.
• Conduct live remotes and appearances.
• Promote the station and its events.
• Engage with listeners on social media.
• Conduct on-air interviews.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Skill in control board operation and remote broadcasting.
• Ability to speak in front of an audience and interact with listeners in a public setting.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• At least 1 year of experience as an on-air radio personality.
• Proficiency in Adobe Audition
• Strong knowledge of music and current events.
• Knowledge of basic FCC rules and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
