Safety & Health Consultant
As an LSCI Safety & Health Consultant, you will work with clients in many different industries from the comfort of your office using tools such as phone, video, and email to provide services such as:
- Reviewing and evaluating inspection reports submitted from onsite consultants, making necessary revisions to ensure compliance, and communicating hazards with clients.
- Developing certification cards, certificates, and other training documentation.
- Reviewing, developing, and updating Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Creating PowerPoint presentations, supplemental training and reference materials such as quizzes or group activities for safety & health training sessions.
- Consulting and professional guidance, support, and OSHA-research pertaining to the client’s overall safety program
- Evaluating client safety needs and compliance methods to make recommendations on improvements, best practices, and ongoing improvement measures.
- Developing webinar PowerPoints and scripts, writing articles for the LSCI blog, newsletter, safety committee discussions, etc.
- Reviewing OSHA 300 Logs, injury & illness trends, and providing recommendations for improvement
- Developing and maintaining high-quality written safety & health programs and procedures for clients.
- Providing proficient assistance, guidance, and support for clients’ prequalification sites such as ISNetWorld, PEC, and Avetta.
Other potential services, depending on experience and availability:
- Conducting onsite work for clients such as powered industrial truck evaluations, fit testing, and facility inspections.
- Work directly with OSHA to assist clients with citation abatement, participate in informal conferences as LSCI representative.
- Teaching client training sessions (online or in-person) for topics for which you are qualified for.
- Providing abatement assistance to clients during and after an OSHA inspection.
Requirements:
- An ability to perform general office tasks, including computer and phone use.
- Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or a related field.
- Proficiency in in Microsoft Office and ability to learn computer-based applications is required.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year experience in the safety field.
- Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Must be available Monday-Friday during normal business hours.
Location:
The position is largely office-based with limited field work. Our home office is located in Wexford, PA, which is about 15 miles north of Pittsburgh. Telecommuting and remote-work opportunities are available. No travel is required for this position.
Compensation:
- Telecommuting opportunities
- Income based on experience, starting salaries between $37,440 and $45,760/year.
