SALARY RANGE: $80,000-$105,000

JOB TITLE: Site Safety & Health Officer
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
SUMMARY: The Site Safety and Health Officer implements procedures to prevent and eliminate injury and illness to employees and assist the company to comply with safety laws
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures.
  • Responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions. •
  • Participates and develops the training of employees on safety policies, procedures, regulations, •
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. •
  • Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Indirectly supervises employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the health and safety field required. • Familiarity with health and safety standard concepts, practices and procedures required. • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Other skills as required:
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university required.
