Position Summary

This position supports the Transportation Manager as a load planner and administrative clerk. The incumbent will be involved in customer freight planning while working closely with third-party driver leasing service, warehouse operations and transportation staff. Position involves daily interaction with multiple customers.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Will distribute work orders on daily basis to warehouse employees
  • Tracking UPS shipments
  • Ongoing route optimization and maintenance of route schedules to provide outstanding customer service while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Fax and email packing lists and loading manifests to customers
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Daily interaction with driver dispatch to ensure timely coverage of routes.
  • Works closely with supervision and management team
  • Daily interaction with other departments within Bridgestone to promote team success.
  • Filing
  • Monitor Transportation Group email and respond as needed
  • Load tendering to outside carriers (TL and LTL).
  • Performs a variety of general office, clerical and records management duties
  • Daily route planning to optimize use of the 3rd party fleet and common carriers incorporating safety, customer service, and cost.
  • Ensure strong customer service through daily interaction with customers to schedule deliveries and problem solve.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Exceptional Customer Service skills
  • Good attendance record
  • 3 years general office experience
  • Microsoft office skills - including Excel, Access, Outlook
  • Good math skills
