Job Description

  • Exhibits critical thinking skills and good decision quality in recommending solutions to various situations and issues
  • Adjusts or modifies therapy plan based on student progress data
  • Consults, as appropriate, with relevant student team members as well as other appropriate district leaders before initiating any procedures or changes not previously approved
  • Provides therapy to students per appropriate support plan such as Section 504 plan and/or IEPs
  • Attends required district-wide staff meetings and trainings
  • Regularly communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, parents, and students
  • Participates in student support plan meetings including eligibilities, IEP, re-evaluation data review, MTSS meetings, RTI plan review, and/or Section 504 plan meetings with the intent of providing expert opinions relating to the provision of services, student progress, instructional ad therapy recommendations
  • Collects data on therapy services and student progress. Completes progress reports according to IEP or other support plan
  • Communicates with school staff regarding students and services, as appropriate
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Maintains student confidentiality per FERPA requirements
  • Completes all local, state, and federal reports as assigned
  • Utilizes appropriate procedures and follows established protocols for student safety and welfare
