General Summary
- Acts as the direct supervisor of investigative staff, serving as a source of guidance for investigators with their investigations; coordinating their annual performance reviews with direction from OBC leadership; and managing investigator attendance, timekeeping, and other administrative functions.
- Serves as the liaison between investigators and Bar Counsel’s leadership team.
- Maintains and keeps up to date OBC library holdings and subscriptions necessary to obtain records from, courts, agencies, online research providers and other sources.
- Participates in hiring investigators and in managing their performance, training and development.
- Schedules and conducts investigator meetings on issues of common interest.
- Performs investigations including preparing file summaries, assisting Assistant Bar Counsel, and researching legal issues.
- Performs additional duties, as assigned.
- Minimum five years’ paralegal or investigator experience or equivalent, preferred.
- Strong research and investigation skills.
- Proficiency in legal research resources.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software and online search applications.
- Strong managerial and communication skills.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Proven skills in problem identification, analysis, and evaluation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Supervises team of investigators.
- Normal office working conditions include frequent sitting, walking and computer monitor use. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
