Purpose of Department:
The Office of Admissions seeks to attract and enroll a diverse student body for our non-traditional program who are academically strong, ethical, and positive members of their community in a positive work environment that encourages ingenuity, collaboration, and excitement.
The RN to BSN program provides online and classroom-based programs of study that are responsive of students’ needs preparing them for lifelong learning, meaningful careers, and ethical citizenship through intellectual opportunities in a student-focused environment.

Summary of Position:
The Nursing Admissions Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions and recruits students for the RN to BSN program, with the goal of increasing enrollment in the program.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Work independently and maintain professional and confidential relationships with students and staff.
  • Follow up on lead opportunities that are shared from the RN to BSN Program Director to include but not limited to, hospital/healthcare employers and community college associate degree nursing personnel.
  • Meet with the Vice President of Enrollment Management & Marketing and the Assistant Vice President of Admissions as needed.
  • Working hours include daytime, evenings, and possibly weekends. Some work hours will be in person, and some will be remote. Admissions Department staff meetings are on Mondays and attendance on campus on Mondays is strongly encouraged.
  • Facilitate communication with RN to BSN inquiries, encouraging them to apply to WPU.
  • Meet with the Assistant Director of Admissions and RN to BSN Program Director weekly or biweekly to discuss application status of students and recruitment initiatives.
  • Support the Assistant Director of Admissions and RN to BSN Program Director with on-site and virtual recruitment events by assisting with planning, implementation, and participation in all information sessions and RN to BSN recruitment events. Travel is required in order to be present at on-site recruitment events (i.e. hospitals, community colleges, etc.)


Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing with two years of experience as an RN. Excellent computer skills, customer-focus, and awareness of adult learner needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in nursing; previous experience in nursing education or teaching/precepting nurses.
