Nurse Apprentice positions are designed specifically for students currently enrolled in a Registered Nursing Program. Nurse Apprentice positions are available with all BayCare hospitals. You will find a posting for each Tampa Bay area county or region. • Full time hours are 3 twelve-hour shifts per week and every other weekend
• Night shifts are 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Day shifts are6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Part time hours are 2 twelve-hour shifts per week and every other weekend
• Pool (with shift commitments of 3 twelve-hour shifts per month, more shifts available if desired)

The Nurse Apprentice is a member of the health care team who performs direct and indirect patient care tasks under the direction of an RN.

The Nurse Apprentice:

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
• Must submit BayCare Nurse Apprentice Portfolio to validate nursing education and skills within 30 days.
• Assists the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care as directed by the RN.

Position Requires:

• Successful completion of Nursing Fundamentals in a current Registered Nursing Program
• Completion of BayCare provided Nurse Apprentice/PCT Clinical Skills training class
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work flexible hours is a plus!
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (from American Red Cross or American Heart Association)

For this position, we are looking for a person who is dedicated to compassionate patient care in a hospital setting where you are a part of a dynamic healthcare team. This position requires no previous nursing or healthcare work experience. However, it does require current enrollment in a Registered Nursing Program and successful completion of Nursing Fundamentals in your nursing program. Nursing Fundamentals must be completed, validated, and a nursing portfolio (BLS Card, Transcripts, etc.) submitted.
