Novice Nurse - Wilmington

Maxim Healthcare Services isseeking a LPN/LVN Novice Nurse (< 12 months of experience). The Novice Nurse Licensed Practical/VocationalNurse is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care inaccordance with care developed for each individual patient in accordance withphysician’s orders when applicable.
Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities

• Verifies that documentationreflects patient/client collaboration, participation in plan of care, expected patient/client outcomes,and selected nursing interventions
• Assures patient safety at all timesand recipient of services provided
• Performs interventions, treatments,and medication administration, according to identified priorities, plan of care, facilitypolicies and patient/client care outcome standards as applicable.
• Nurse Practice Act
• Changes in patient/clientcondition
• Physician notification to obtainnecessary orders for intervention(s) per state regulations
• Adheres to Maxim's policies andprocedures and applicable protocols
• Monitors the safety andeffectiveness of the environment and equipment including universal precautions
• Standards of Patient Care
• State and Local Laws
• Utilizes the nursing process toplan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or contracted services
• Attends case conferences, teammeetings, education in-services as required
• Documents all physiciancollaboration/coordination of care in the medical record and communicates thisinformation as needed
• Standards of Nursing Practice
• Communicates observations andsignificant changes in patient/client status to the Director of
• Monitors and documentseffectiveness of interventions, treatments, and medications
• Patient Bill of Rights
• Demonstrates on each assignment theprovision of skilled nursing care rendered in accordance with prescribed orders
• Supports professional practice byobserving the following;
• Clinical Services and/or ClinicalSupervisor /Case Manager or licensed designee
• Identifies and prioritizes actionsbased upon patient/client care requirements
• Notifies Director/Supervisor ifapplicable on the following;
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Identifies and documents changes inpatient’s both physiologic and psycho-social condition
• Evaluates patient/client andprovides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient/client environment
• Standards of Accrediting Body(ACHC, Joint Commission, etc.)
• Participates in activities tofacilitate good interpersonal communications
• Maxim Healthcare, Nursing, andClient’s Hospital Policies

MinimumRequirements

• A minimum GPA requirement isexpected. Authorization from Area or Regional clinical leadership should be consideredwhen hiring an applicant who does not meet a 3.0 GPA threshold
• License Required
• Graduate of an accredited school ofnursing
• Current resume including clinicalhours and rotations
• Complies with accepted professionalstandards and practice
• Two letters of reference wherepossible. Prefer one reference to be professional reference (i.e. clinical instructor)
• Successful completion of Maxim Homecare Novice Nurse Programorientation and training
• Current CPR
• PPD or chest X-Ray if applicable
