What We Need:

This position is for a full time news anchor/reporter, providing critical content to Cleveland and surrounding areas along with Regional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

The employee will provide local as well as national coverage for station groups to use during their newscasts.

What You'll Do:

Responsibilities:

• Provides weather forecasts for stations in the market
• Monitors sources for breaking news, e.g., wires and social media.
• Provides newscasts/reports and write copy.
• Gathers, writes, edits, and reports multiple market news stories and newscasts.

Reports/Anchors news for both Cleveland and Ohio statewide reports and other markets as needed

What You'll Need:

Qualifications:

• Proficient in media production (primarily audio) and broadcast systems
• Excellent writing and editing ability; excellent grammar
• Strong social media skills including writing/posting for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
• Strong on-air presence and ability to present stories/newscasts with authority
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong time management skills are key; adept at setting priorities and managing deadlines
• Knowledgeable and up-to-date with local and national trends

Work Experience:

• At least 1-3 years experience

Education:

• College degree preferred, but not required

The nature of news and the part time position at times could require flexibility in terms of scheduling and coverage of a story.
