Do you have a knack for bringing smiles to people's faces? Want to help create and provide great memories to our guests? You will provide friendly and efficient guest service, while capturing memories worth repeating for the guests of Newport Aquarium. Having a love and training in photography is not even required, but it couldn't hurt. We will train you in all aspects of our souvenir photography processes. Success comes from your great energy and engaging attitude. We require a dedicated individual who will take direction from the Merchandise Management Team in carrying out a great guest experience in relation to all souvenir photography activities.

Required Skills
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a positive attitude and appearance at all times.
• Work with other team members/departments of Newport Aquarium to ensure effective communication is implemented at all times
• Must be self-motivated to work independently, as well as, disciplined and reliable.
• Must maintain a willingness and ability to learn and perform all job functions, work independently as well as with a team.
• Responsible for proper cash handling and maintaining PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance.
• Contribute to a work environment that is satisfying, enjoyable and energetic.
• Maintain appropriate guest and team member relations at all times, ensuring guest and team satisfaction, as well as, safety.
• Demonstrates strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Delivers high quality images to guests, accurately setting camera settings prior to shooting photos.
• Perform, adhere to, and implement all Herschend Family Entertainment Core Values and Newport Aquarium Guest Service Standards, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols to ensure safe and efficient guest service operations.
• Approach guests and offer photo services in a friendly and engaging manner.
• Arrive on time and ready to work all scheduled shifts, and in accordance with Newport Aquarium uniform and appearance standards.
• Understand policies and procedures relating to the overall functions of the Merchandise department
• Keep safety as a number one priority at all times while working at Newport Aquarium.
• Ensures assigned photo location is stocked, clean, prepared and organized.

Qualifications
Required Experience

• Prior cash handling and point of sale experience is a plus.
• Must have strong public speaking skills and the ability to read, write and speak the English language (knowledge of other languages is a plus).
• Previous guest service or retail experience preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and/or weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to think clearly, react quickly, and calmly to changes and/or emergency situations

Requirements

• Physical strength, including the ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time, ascend & descend stairs/floors, bend, and stoop.
• No history if allergy related to animals or plants, which might interfere with ability to work.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
