The Raytheon Technologies Infrastructure Engineering and Core Security organization is currently recruiting for a Network Security Engineer. The successful candidate will be expected to engage with internal RTX business units to evaluate network security issues, propose design options, and work with network engineers and implement new firewall deployments from a network and security policy perspective. Prior experience supporting acquisition and divestiture activities as it relates to network security preferred.

Responsibilities:

Administration of firewalls including all aspects of design, procurement, installation and maintenance

Troubleshooting firewall and access issues

Understanding of Azure and AWS architectures including the abilities to manage both network security and connectivity with the enterprise network

Strong network and routing knowledge including BGP

Understanding DNS/DCHP/IP address management systems

Comprehensive understanding of network security best practices and evaluating security requests for implementation

Knowledge of current cyber security threats along with steps and methods for mitigating these risks

Expertise in basic scripting languages (Perl, VBScript, PowerShell preferred)

Sound project leadership and organizational skills

Strong work ethic, enthusiasm and ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment

Flexibility for rotational on-call duties

Basic Qualifications

The candidate is expected to be proficient on firewall administration

At least 5 years of firewall management experience

Strong networking background.

Preferred Experience

  • Palo Alto, Forcepoint, Fortinet, Checkpoint or similar firewall expertise
  • 3-5+ years of experience in network security
  • Understanding of DNS/DHCP
  • Remote Access Services and extranet experience
  • Skilled understanding of network routing protocols

Education:

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
