Job Description

NETWORK ENGINEER (Early Career to Intermediate)

Summit Radiology P.C. is a Radiology Physician practice comprised of Diagnostic and Interventional radiologists, mid-level providers, ancillary healthcare team members and support staff. To support our growing operations, we are seeking a Network Engineer with additional experience or interest in Windows and Linux System Administration, Virtualization, and SAN Storage infrastructure. We are seeking someone with 2-3 years of Networking experience (Cisco Switching and Routing), as well as Firewall Experience. (More experience is great too.)

The Network Engineer will work within the Information Technology / Informatics department supporting the organization. The primary function will be performing network engineering, troubleshooting, monitoring, and installation activities. The chosen candidate should also be versed in Firewalls, Security Policies, IPS/IDS, URL Filtering, and associated technologies. We desire someone with experience in, or at least an interest in learning, systems administration, and healthcare information technology. It won’t be just sitting in an office and working on networks all day. We all have our specialties, but we all do certain support activities, regardless of experience or education.

Fit is a big deal for us. We will always choose someone that may need time to come up to speed on technical responsibilities, but they have a personality that fits with our team, our organization, and our culture as opposed to someone who is an excellent technician, but does not “play well with others.” This position will also join the Overnight/Weekend/Holiday On-Call rotation once they are trained and fully up to speed (Usually 6 – 9 months). We have a lot of fun here, but we also work hard supporting the organization and the technology it requires to provide world-class life and limb-saving medical care.

You will need to work On-Site at our Fort Wayne HQ for the first 6-9 Months as you learn all of the necessary systems, processes, and workflows to support our organization. (We will be flexible if you need to work at home here and there during that time). Once you are ready to go in the call rotation, the role will become hybrid. We will work with you to find the best days to be on-site and which days you want to work from home.

Required Qualifications: (Need to have)

  • Experience with Network Technologies like DHCP, DNS, IPAM
  • Cisco CCNA (May be waived in lieu of experience)
  • Storage Area Networking Experience
  • Cisco Routing, Layer 3 design experience, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP, FHRP Methodologies

  • NGFW Experience (multiple vendors) including Layer 4-7 and Layer 4-7 Application Control, IPS/IDS, URL Filtering, and other Next-Gen Feature sets.
  • IPv4 and IPv6 Experience (Also BGPv6 and OSPFv3)
  • Multi-point WAN and P2P Experience
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering (May be waived in lieu of additional experience).

Desired Qualifications: (Nice to have)

  • Windows Server System Administration
  • RedHat Linux Administration
  • PaloAlto and SonicWall experience
  • Desire to learn new skills and learn about supporting Radiology IT systems.
  • Voice over IP experience (Non-Cisco)
  • Experience overseeing Managed SOC and vendor relations.
  • Windows Desktop Administration
  • Other Industry Certifications (CompTIA Network+, Server+, Security+) or Vendor Certifications (Aruba, Arista, Juniper, etc… )

Summit Radiology P.C. does not offer sponsorship for this role. We are only able to consider candidates who do not have limitations on their ability to stay in the United States long term.
