Job Description

ReCon Group is seeking a qualified NDT Level II for a short-term (3-month) project at a local industry in Southwest LA.

Summary of Description:

Perform inspections per instructions and guidance of Supervisor and code methods.

Duties:

The NDT Level II Technician will be expected to report regularly to the ReCon NDE Group offices as scheduled by his or her first line supervisor ready and equipped to perform assigned tasks on a daily basis.

  • The technician will operate all ReCon vehicles assigned in a safe and courteous manner at all times when operating such equipment.
  • The technician will ensure that all equipment is accounted for after use and that each is properly cleaned and prepared for use by others at all times.
  • The technician will be expected to interact professionally and courteously with all clients and ReCon personnel at all times.
  • The technician is expected to provide technically accurate, neat, and concise reports as soon as possible after each inspection.
  • The technician is expected to provide legible timesheets as required that accurately reflect hours worked per job and to include all required timesheet information as needed, based on input received from his or her first line supervisor.
  • The technician will work as directed to provide method NDE support to a variety of projects in accordance with those methods qualified for and may also provide support to other inspection personnel as directed or as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • The technician will be responsible to ensure that all inspection equipment assigned or allocated for each inspection is kept safe, clean, and serviceable for each inspection and is checked prior to all inspections to ensure that it is fully operational and to report any issues with the equipment as soon as they are known to his or her first line supervisor.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), with experience in the chemical refinery construction industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

License Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License as per State law or requirement

Specific Skills:

  • Basic computer skills or capable of learning to use computer
  • Must be able to write effectively
  • Understanding of basic math and print interpretation helpful

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit at desk and operate computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting to 75 lbs. may be required.
  • Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break.
  • Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted.
  • Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction sites outdoors at any time of the year.
  • Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
