Summary of Position Provide nationwide leadership of Sundance's Natural Resources Business Unit to include technical and business management, senior consulting, and project and program management. Apply a working knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and other related federal and/or state natural resource laws and regulations. Position encompasses a client focus, including networking and establishing client relationships and developing business. Leads staff with project/program technical oversight to assure goals and objectives of Natural Resources programs are met. Duties & Responsibilities Provide overall management for Sundance's natural resources business portfolio to include but not limited to NEPA; conservation; biological surveys, assessments and evaluations; resource management; environmental planning and permitting; threatened and endangered species; and other related environmental services. Responsible for the overall management of projects ensuring that the technical solutions and schedules are implemented in a timely manner and within budget constraints. Schedules and assigns duties to subordinates and subcontractors and ensures assignments are completed as directed. Ensures quality of work and reviews/resolves work discrepancies for a wide variety of projects and programs. Manages and mentors a diverse group of technical staff and provides business, technical, and personnel management across multiple projects and programs. Provides technical expertise at project level and assist with growing Sundance's environmental program through development of client relationships and identification of opportunities for expansion of our environmental services. Works to meet Business Unit goals including sales, revenue, work quality, health and safety, and proposal success. Collaborates with other Business Unit Managers to contribute to the strategic direction of Sundance and position the company for new contract opportunities. Tracks environmental tasks/projects, from financial management through successful completion of the project, utilizing our technology, standards and project delivery practices. Leads or contributes to proposal preparation and review (technical and cost). Coordinates technical staff to complete project assignments and fieldwork (associated with biology, hydrology, hydrogeology, geology, and soils). Leads client meetings and develops presentations and serves as Sundance's point of contact for current and future projects. Manages projects or provides guidance to subordinate managers to ensure deliverables are produced on time and meet Sundance's quality standards. Assists with preparation or senior review of natural resource documents. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Minimum of bachelor's degree in biology, Environmental Sciences, or related field, with a Master's degree preferred. 10+ years' experience (at least 5 in environmental consulting) conducting NEPA and/or environmental permitting, Ability to develop work plans, scopes of work, budgets and schedules for proposals to target complex environmental projects with multi-disciplinary teams and multi-agency efforts. Proficiency with MS Office suite, strong people skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to satisfactorily pass pre-employment and post-employment drug and alcohol tests. Preferred Qualifications : Demonstrated knowledge of NEPA and the associated environmental process. Experience working with federal government agencies Skilled in marketing clients, preferably within the mining, power, agricultural, and industrial sectors. Experience supervising professional staff Working Conditions Extended periods of time in front of a computer screen in a climate-controlled office. Overnight and day travel as needed to support field work. Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions. Physical Requirements Ability to lift a minimum of 2 5 pounds on occasion.
