Position Overview


Koniag Management Solutions (KMS) is looking for a highly qualified Multimedia Artist and Animator to support our government customer located in Fort Eustis, VA. This opportunity offers the chance to work with some of the best and brightest minds in the Department of Defense (DoD) and US Industry to develop and implement Training and Education (T&E) products and support services for the Department of the Army and its Army Virtual Learning Environment (AVLE) 2.0.

The Successful Candidate Will Provide The Following


AVLE 2.0 is a revolutionary concept that will shift the way the Army develops and delivers training and education products to the total force. AVLE 2.0 leverages new learning using technologies in courseware design and delivery to enable the execution of rigorous, relevant, and tailorable learning content at the point of need. The AVLE 2.0 provides a total Army capability that will enable a dynamic learning environment to support the Active, Reserve and Army Civilian professional workforce with products developed at the newly defined interactivity levels of 0 through 4. AVLE 2.0 provides the Army with the ability to achieve a more effective and efficient T&E environment that will establish the conditions that are vital for the preparation of mission-ready Soldiers, leaders, civilians, and organizations. AVLE 2.0 provides T&E, which can be delivered anytime and anywhere, with or without an instructor, to new and varied delivery platforms.


  • Utilize industry-standard software and tools, such as graphic design software, 3D modeling software, and animation software, to create high-quality multimedia assets.
  • Design and develop user interfaces and interactive elements within multimedia assets to enhance learner engagement and interactivity.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks and testing to ensure the functionality, performance, and visual integrity of multimedia assets.
  • Create visually engaging and interactive multimedia assets for the AVLE 2.0
  • Maintain accurate documentation of design processes, specifications, and version control for multimedia assets.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure that multimedia assets are seamlessly integrated into the AVLE 2.0 platform.
  • Developing 2D and 3D models, animations, and graphics for digital Learning Content Objects (LCOs), serious games, simulations, videos, and augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences
  • Incorporate immersive multimedia and computer-simulated virtual or augmented reality elements into AVLE 2.0 content.
  • Apply Section 508 accessibility guidelines and standards to ensure multimedia assets are compliant and accessible to individuals with disabilities.
  • Collaborating with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and software developers to understand project requirements and translate them into visually compelling multimedia content.
  • Optimize multimedia assets for various delivery platforms, such as desktop computers, mobile devices, and virtual reality (VR) headsets.


Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Knowledge of the US Army, TRADOC or The Army Distributed Learning Program (TADLP) is a plus.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of paid experience with and understanding of Section 508
  • Minimum of five (5) years of paid experience developing IMI and 3D models for digital LCOs, serious games, simulations, videos, and augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR)
  • B.A/B.F. A/B. S of Graphic Arts or Graphic Design
  • Experience with Level 4 IMI - immersive multimedia or computer-simulated virtual or augmented reality, in which the learner engages in a real-life scenario responding to sensory cues.


Working Environment & Conditions


This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
