Grader Operator
Job Summary Performs either rough or fine grade finishing, precisely spreading and mixing materials in order to dry and prep roads, construct road surface to precise grade specifications, lay cold mix, and/or shave and rip out old road surfaces. Duties and Responsibilities : Operate the grader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings. Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required Ability to Finish Base to a ¼” tolerance, must possess the ability to finish different base courses such as lime rock, crushed concrete and soil cement. Qualifications: Knowledge of grader and other heavy equipment. Knowledge road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements. Understanding of computerized controls and electronics. Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination Must have Strong communication skills Have a sense of urgency to meet deadlines Multi-task and set priorities effectively. 2 years’ experience in like position
Must be accustomed to working in an outdoor setting which could include inclement weather, heat & humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Must be able to perform physical activities that require bending, lifting (up to 40lbs), squatting, walking, and handling of materials. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
> Compensation based on experience level, must arrange a “Performance” test before being hired by either an HBC Foreman or Superintendent.
