Job Description
Title: Model Risk Analyst
Location: One M&T Plaza, Buffalo, NY 14203
:
Contribute to a Model Risk Management team under limited supervision, responsible for independently providing controls and governance over the development, execution, and maintenance of models in conjunction with independent model validation. Use SAS, R, Python, and MATLAB to develop model analytics with limited supervision. Extract and analyze data from source systems for use in model validations. Independently review and validate models used across the Bank for capital stress testing, risk measurement and prediction, pricing, forecasting, wealth management, marketing, compliance, profitability and management decision-making, and other functions. Collaborate with the team lead to validate complex models under limited supervision. Independently conduct full and targeted scope validations, assessments of model performance, and evaluations of finding remediations. Review development and execution codes. Research and evaluate each models theory and design under limited supervision. Conduct independent analyses of model assumptions and outcomes; determine impact of model deficiencies and limitations; review model documentation; perform testing and benchmarking when applicable; produce reports, memos, and presentations of reviews performed; develop ad hoc processes to address efficiency gains; and engage with regulators and audit teams during process reviews. Position is eligible for 100% remote work.
Requirements:
Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Economics, or any engineering or related quantitative field. Must have at least one (1) year of experience conducting regression analyses; using SAS, R, Python, or MATLAB to develop model analytics; reading and analyzing data; and building models based on analytic results. Experience may be gained through graduate coursework, internships, and/or prior experience.
