University Cancer & Blood Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician MLT to join our team! You will be responsible for performing medical tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This position is a part time/PRN position for our Covington location. Hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thurs from 7:00 AM-5:00 PM.
Responsibilities:
  • Properly record results for further analysis and easy reference
  • Perform all daily QC, maintenance, and proficiency testing on instruments.
  • Monitor inventory samples and supplies
  • Perform cbc, i-stat BMP’s , macro UA’s and other point of care testing in a very high paced physician office
  • Prepare samples for routine testing and analysis
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Work under the supervision of a medical technologist
  • Collect and organize blood, tissue, and other bodily fluid samples from patients
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a clinical technician or in other related fields
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience in a laboratory setting
  • Familiarity with common medical terminology
