Description
Summary:
The Millwright will perform the essential functions of the coal transfer process in a safe, efficient, and timely manner as instructed by the Terminal Manager.
Essential Duties/Functions:
- Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual and sound inspections
- Climb up & down rail car ladders to lock & unlock intermodal containers through the transfer process.
- Complete written record of work performed
- Perform other multiple duties as assigned
- Install, assemble, and test new machines and equipment as necessary
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and sketches.
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for new and existing equipment.
- Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions
- Operate conveyor systems, mobile equipment, which includes, backhoes, bulldozers, and rubber-tired bucket loaders to repair to check for proper operation and/or adjustment.
- Complete welding repairs to ABS standard
- Complete machine work as indicated on job blueprints and manufacturer specifications manuals.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Years of Experience:
2-5 years’ experience in a construction, industrial maintenance operations. Ability to weld is required.
Demands:
- Must be able to climb heights and work in confined spaces
- Must be able to a rotating shift, including weekends
- Must pass and maintain safety/operation requirements of manlift operation.
