Additional Responsibilities for the Millwright will include:
- Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per job task specification or specified plant location.
- Attends weekly safety meetings and brief, daily safety meetings to discuss on-the-job safety.
- Align machines and equipment, using micrometers and plumb bobs. Performs check for leaks and ensures equipment is operating efficiently.
- Reviews all safety concerns generated in the database.
- Dismantles the failed equipment (motors, pumps) using hand and power tools such as hammers, wrenches, crowbars, etc. Transports it to the shop using hoist, lift trucks, dollies, and rollers.
- Assess the failed equipment, orders replacement parts using CMMS, and assembles the equipment with the new parts.
- Utilizes a laser alignment tool during installation of pumps, motors, gearboxes, fans, and steam turbines.
- Documentation of resolutions of work orders is entered in the CMMS
- Performs other duties/projects as designated by supervisor, and parameters are indicative to average requirements that are not inclusive based on change in operational, safety, or environmental factors.
- Communicates with unit operations to ensure work site has been prepared and to avoid interfering with activities of other workers. Follows lockout-tag out procedures, checking for documentation of entry permit and check to make sure lines are closed and locked.
- Completes computer-based training to comply with Health, Safety & Environmental requirements and policies.
- Attends daily meeting to receives and discuss daily work orders. Orders include removing, repairing, and installing machinery and equipment in the field.
- Equipment inspection is completed prior to utilization
- Re-installs the machinery after prepping the supporting surface. Bolts, welds, rivet, or otherwise fasten machinery to the foundation. Lubricates bolts with Never Seize.
- Follows lockout-tag out procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
§ 2 - 3 years in an industrial setting as a Millwright
- One year certificate from an accredited college or technical school or
- Ability to supervise others, may perform as a crew leader
- Transportation Worker’s Identification Credentials (TWIC)
- Completes computer-based training to maintain knowledge of procedures and
- Respiratory Protection
- HAZCOM Signs and Tags
- Blood-borne Pathogens
- RCRA Overview
- Hearing Conservation
- Fire Extinguisher (classroom and hands-on)
- Other Company procedures
- Storm water Pollution Prevention Plan
- Personal Protective Equipment
Requirements:
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
Basic computer skills (MS Office, SAP)
Basic knowledge of labor law
Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
Effective safety attitude and understanding of safe work practices.
People, coaching, coordinating, and facilitating experience/skills. Preferably 5+ years.
24/7 continuous manufacturing experience. Preferably 5+ years.
Knowledge of regulations including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Coast Guard, including PSM/RMP.
Ability to wear a full-face respirator.
