The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Safety Specialist to join the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Team in Mesa, AZ.
The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Mesa Environment, Health and Safety Team is looking for a health and safety professional to support the BDS Mesa Operations. This position is encouraged to apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify mitigations to existing and future EHS risks in the production system. As part of the EHS team you will support health and safety initiatives, projects and compliance and provide mentorship and cultural influence through the safety team and leadership team.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops corrective action plan to respond to internal/external audits and inspections
- Develops and provides training and instructions
- Develops, implements and monitors occupational health and safety programs and processes
- Identifies and manages safety risks
- Evaluates the impact of emerging issues, regulations and legislation to company operations
- Plans and conducts health and safety audits
- Leads workplace safety activities in a higher risk environment requiring additional focus on recordable injury reduction
- Supports regulatory compliance, high hazard operations, and company-committed safety goals
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Experience across a wide range of Environment, Health & Safety disciplines (E.G. Electrical Safety, Fall Protection, Hazardous Energy, Machining Guarding, Radiation, Cranes, and Ergonomics)
- 3+ years of experience collaborating across functions and organizations
- 3+ years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
- 1+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and partners
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience managing projects
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a safety related field (Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Toxicology, Bio-Engineering, Public Health, etc.)
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
