Job Description
GEICO Technology Solutions is seeking Middleware Engineers to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will provide 24x7 support of application platforms and middleware used with various Tier 1 on-prem claims applications such as ATLAS Regional Integration Framework (RIF), Document viewer, GENIE, Eloquence, DataCap, and AD CheckWriter. The team also provides middleware support for various Tier1 Digital Messaging applications such as CIE, IESREST, MQBridge, OTTO, and many others.
Responsibilities:
The Middleware Engineers tasks will include:
  • Troubleshooting connectivity and application issues related to platform structures
  • Participate in sprint planning using ADO.
  • Provision and decommissioning of servers when needed or appropriate
  • Running health checks in problem situations, after patch events, before and after release implementations and before and during major network change
  • Create and execute plans for more complex activities like product and operating system upgrades
  • Provide reports on activities they perform, including problems and incident calls and tickets assigned to them
  • Configuration of RedHat middleware and java platform products, MQ and network entities (firewalls, URLs, and associated VIPs)
  • Provide and perform basic analysis of log information
  • Basic scripted maintenance activities (e.g., data fixes)
  • Participate in development team meetings on projects where they have a role

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems, systems software, application installation and administration
  • 3-5 years of experience with knowledge of computer networking concepts, protocols, security methodologies and access management
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with BMC Helix (formerly Remedy) or ServiceNow.
  • Experience with configuration of MQ, Apache Web Server, RedHat JBOSS, and Tomcat
  • Basic understanding of security groups, roles and Saviynt (ARC)
  • Experience in administration and maintenance of Microsoft (Windows) Server and .NET
  • Ability to write, use and update scripts to automate daily operations.
  • Ability to support, troubleshoot and resolve production issues, support application releases, cloud switchover tests, and participate in problem calls on a 24x7 basis.
  • Knowledge of firewalls and load balancers (F5s, Alteon) and their configuration
  • Understanding of DNS resolution, subnet masking, firewall concepts/processes; be able to provide guidance on requests and connection validations
  • Experience in administration and maintenance of Linux/SLES and with utilities such as cron, and related applications on this operating system.
  • Ability to analyze logs files on distributed platforms and be able to monitor applications using tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
  • Ability to collaborate with development teams, DevOps engineers, network engineers and outside vendors when necessary.
  • As a plus, knowledge of ATLAS/Guidewire and ability to support its operation

Annual Salary
$76,000.00 - $185,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
