Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Middle School French Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. As a Middle School French Teacher, you will play a key role in fostering students' love for the French language and culture while providing a comprehensive and engaging curriculum. This person would be responsible for teaching four Middle School French sections and co-advise a group of students in grades 6th-8th. The primary goal of this role is to help students build self-confidence through successful exploration and discovery while learning.

Success in the position will be evaluated based on the individual’s ability to support the Middle School in the achievement of their goals, which includes:

• Demonstrating the ability to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Working with students to help them develop curiosity, creativity, teamwork, resilience, empathy, independence, time management, and responsible decision making
• Communicating with diverse groups of parents, students, and colleagues
• Teaching four sections of French to middle school students, supporting student learning and social-emotional development
• Actively supporting the school through participation in the variety of activities that make the School a vibrant community, including off-campus trips, some of which are overnight
• Integrating the use of technology to enhance student learning
• Creating an inclusive classroom environment through regular class meetings, supportive exchanges with students, and clear expectations for classroom behavior

Qualifications:

• At least two years demonstrated effective teaching experience.
• Experience with Understanding by Design instructional planning a plus
• Prior experience working with adolescents is required.
• Experience with student-centered teaching, project-based learning, and performance-based assessment is preferable.
• Master’s degree in teaching, education, French or a related field preferred.
