Middle School English Language Arts Teacher

St. Ignatius School seeks a full time middle school English Language Arts teacher for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels with a passion for teaching early adolescents.St. Ignatius School has been educating students with a Jesuit influence for over 100 years. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing an optimal and safe learning environment.
• Willing to teach an elective on student leadership.
• Plan and implement lessons in accordance with Oregon state and Archdiocesan standards.
• Willing to serve the school in other capacities as needed.
• Create engaging, differentiatedlessons and activities that develop student critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Establish a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement.
• Enhance curriculum by developing lessons that utilize technology.
• Collaborate with the middle school team of teachers.
• Evaluate and assess student performance and progress.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• Math endorsement or experience preferred.
• Must hold a current Oregon Teaching License.
