Job Description

Accelerated Analytical Laboratories is a full-service contract cGMP-testing laboratory (Good manufacturing practice.) Laboratory ISO 17025 accredited facility, we serve local, national, and international clients. We serve the food, medical device validation, facility monitoring services, and quality control and release testing, as well as ICH stability storage. , natural products, OTC (over-the-counter) medications, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics markets. Within those markets, we test a wide variety of consumer products: pet food, lotions, shampoos, cleaning supplies, vitamins, water, and prepared foods, just to name a few. Our specialties include microbiology and chemistry, compendia methods, process and method.

Job Summary:The Microbiology Technician accurately tests incoming client samples for the enumeration and/or presence/absence of various microorganisms. The technician will be required to work in a fast-paced current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) facility, processing a variety of client samples under various internal methods. Other tasks may include and are not limited to equipment calibration and maintenance as needed, supply inventory, and maintaining a clean laboratory environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare and process test samples following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
  • Maintain a clean and audit ready laboratory.
  • Conduct quality control testing within the laboratory
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Able to work within an environmentally controlled environment.
  • Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with AAL policies and procedures.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university (Microbiology or Medical Technology preferred)
  • Previous experience with USP 61 and 62 is ideal.
  • At least one year of previous professional laboratory experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with aseptic technique preferred.
  • Able to read and follow directions accurately.
  • Organizational skills, good communications skills, and attention to detail are critical.
  • Able to write legibly.
  • Able to use standard laboratory equipment including laminar flow hood, pipettor, and balance.
  • Microsoft Office suite and electronic record experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional weekend shifts are expected.
  • May stand and sit for extended periods of time, up to 6 hours a day.
  • Fast paced setting within a team environment
  • Required to stoop, reach, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
