Job Summary:

Chloeta is looking to fill a part-time position in our Meteorology Department. As a meteorologist, you will assist with gathering information from different sources of weather data, analyzing the collected data, looking for specific weather patterns, observing and adjusting equipment, using communication systems, operating weather application software, and determining the forecast. You will predict atmospheric changes and familiarize yourself with the program used to track and collect information for research purposes. A meteorologist also assists a senior meteorologist in administrative tasks as necessary.

Compensation:

  • $17.00 per hour

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and forecast key global weather features.

  • Isolate and resolve issues impacting graphics creation and/or distribution.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure that forecast products are accurate and consistent.
  • Leverage in-house technology and datasets to create detailed text and graphical content.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Completion of meteorological course work, especially courses in radar meteorology, weather modification, cloud physics and forecasting, and computer knowledge of Windows, Mac, and Linux/Unix-based operating systems and software are also strong qualifying factors.
  • License verification, education and certifications must be provided at the time of application and can be emailed to [email protected].
  • Required: Able to work rotating shifts which includes nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
  • This job operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Pre-employment Requirements:

This position may be contingent upon passing a security clearance, criminal background check, drug screen, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, education verification, employment verification, and/or credit check after acceptance of an offer and prior to beginning work, due to the nature of the services Chloeta provides and the responsibilities of this position.


Drug and Alcohol Testing:
