Job Description

Metal Finishers are responsible for introducing architectural finish to raw materials, and blending welded product to create a seamless, consistent finish across all welded joints.

Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Blend existing grain of material to be continuous throughout weld joint by selecting appropriate tools and consumables in compliance with project specifications and/or applicable NOMMA standards
  • Maintain a safe and well-organized working environment and follow all safety procedures outlined in the safety manual
  • Introduce linear or circumferential grain to raw material using a timesaver, tube grinder, or other handheld pneumatic tool to achieve project-specification finish requirements
  • Deburr finished product to ensure safe handling
  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements
  • Inspect quality of manufactured product to assure specification compliance
  • Other duties as assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic metal finishing knowledge
  • At least one year of experience in a metal fabrication shop


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand/walk up to 10 hours a day, 5-6 days a week
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds unassisted
