What It’s All About
As a Medical Secretary, you will be providing a high level of administrative and data management to support a doctor's busy office. This role is a 12-month contract position, with possibility of extension or permanent hire after the contract is complete. This role is located at a doctor's office in Barrie, Ontario.

What You Will Do
  • Booking consultation, follow-up or related diagnostics (MRI, CT Scan, etc.) appointments
  • Other job duties as assigned will also be applicable in this position
  • Supporting the phone system by answering calls, transferring lines, and retrieving/relaying telephone messages within a timely manner
  • Conduct all aspects of the role with the highest level of confidentiality
  • Welcome patients into the clinic to answer general inquiries and register for appointments
  • Processing forms, medical letters, reports, charts and files into appropriate systems. Also processing documents for courier to external sources
What We Are Looking For
  • Proficiency with computers including scheduling software and MS Office
  • Ability to problem solve on any identified issues
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to present self in a positive and professional manner 
  • Experience in a similar role will be considered an asset
  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Office Administration program is a strong asset, as well as knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong time-management and organization skills
