Responsibilities: Job Summary
The Clinical Asset Defense Engineer (CADE) will identify improvements in medical device risk management in the day-to-day operations of security processes and standards as needed within medical device cyber security. Assists with design and implementation of the medical device security infrastructure and develops best practices and risk management for medical devices. The Clinical Asset Defense Engineer works with a diverse team to define, document, and implement security controls across biomedical technology spectrum and network applications. Responsible for defining operational security procedures, managing operational activities, auditing the technical implementation of systems and devices to ensure those are in line with security standards and designs. Provides consultation to departments, clinicians, and leadership on best practices for medical device cyber defense.
  • Performs IT security incidents investigations and vulnerability assessments on health technology. Works with business and technical stake holders to research, assess, evaluate, and support the implementations of security related projects. Provides high quality, service-oriented information processing. Strives for service excellence by seeking continuous improvement, and consistent accuracy, completeness, and follow-through of work.
  • Assists departments and diversified businesses with deployment of IT security controls on medical devices. Develops health technology security standards, policies, and procedures and interfaces with other departments to ensure their implementation. Performs regular audits. Promotes security awareness program.
  • Performs security risk assessments, manages risk, and provides advice for the implementation of compensating security controls on health technology. Maintains operational security metrics to measure the effectiveness of security controls and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Performs research, gap analysis, and data collection specific to health technology security and contributes to strategy and roadmap development. Works with business and technical stake holders to research, assess, evaluate, and support the implementations of security related projects. Maintains operational security metrics to measure the effectiveness of security controls and identify opportunities for improvement. Assists with the development, implementation and administration of enterprise information security standards and procedures for network and health technology.
