We are searching for a dedicated and detail-oriented Contract Medical Biller to join our dynamic team. The Contract Medical Biller will be responsible for transferring patient and insurance information, interpreting billing rules and ensuring accuracy, reviewing and validating records, and resolving any discrepancies. The successful candidate will be a highly organized, efficient individual with exceptional attention to detail and a passion for healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on unpaid claims and patient balances.
• Identify and resolve insurance and billing errors or discrepancies.
• Accurately transfer patient and insurance information into the billing software.
• Process and submit insurance claims to insurance companies.
• Collaborate with other team members to expedite the billing process.
• Review and post insurance and patient payments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current insurance plans, billing codes, and billing regulations.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing issues and problems.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and company policy.
• Interpret billing rules to ensure compliance with legal and procedural policies.

Qualifications

• Certification in Medical Billing or related field is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and other healthcare industry legal guidelines.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role in the healthcare industry.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent data entry skills and ability to navigate medical software programs.
• Proficient knowledge of medical insurance billing procedures, medical codes, and medical terminology.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound judgment calls under pressure.
• High degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness.
