This is a 11-month work-year position. You will be on unpaid time off for approximately four weeks or one month each fiscal year. The dates will vary each fiscal year and may fluctuate based on business needs. Occasional weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Schedule will be discussed at interview.
Purpose
To assist health care professionals with the delivery of patient care services and to perform clinical skills as ordered by medical provider.

Responsibilities
  • Assists with the evaluation and care of patients to be seen by UHS providers
  • Maintains a level of knowledge conducive to providing high quality patient care
  • Assists with supervision of Clinic Volunteers
  • Exhibits professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service in all aspects of work
  • Maintains patient health records
  • Performs department specific procedures and treatments per UHS Policies and Procedures
  • Actively participates in maintaining a safe and clean working environment
  • Assists RNs and LVNs with office nursing tasks specific to assigned department following UHS Policies and Procedures
  • Participates in holiday and weekend coverage in Urgent Care on a rotating basis as assigned
  • Actively participates in upkeep of the Gynecology Clinic
  • Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance pattern
  • Participates in other activities as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • One year of experience in an outpatient clinic
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently
  • Experience with and a moderate comfort level using a personal computer
  • CPR certification within 90 days of hire
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Experience using electronic medical records
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, certificate, or registration as a Medical Assistant
  • High school graduation or GED
Preferred Qualifications
  • More than one year of experience using electronic medical records
  • More than one year of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • More than one year of experience in an ambulatory clinic or college health clinic that provides Gynecological services
  • Demonstrated good communication skills, interpersonal skills, team-building skills, and professional demeanor
Salary Range
$3,527.33 per month
