Job Description
  • Follow “trouble shooting” techniques to diagnose equipment breakdowns and make necessary corrections.
  • Responsible for the installation and maintenance upkeep of all equipment and machinery.
  • Build, dismantle, weld and reassemble mechanical parts using hand and power tools as necessary.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
  • Use scales, calipers, micrometers and machine tools in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Do rigging, when necessary, both in the relocation of existing equipment and in the installation of new equipment.
  • Design, modify and fabricate equipment as assigned.
  • Do all types of acetylene, electric (arc) welding and brazing as required to fabricate or repair equipment and related facilities.
  • Take care of tools and equipment. Maintain good housekeeping in assigned work areas.
  • Use machine tools.
  • Perform minor machining, such as boring sprockets and cutting keys.
  • Do necessary plumbing, pipe fitting and sheet metal work as assigned.
